FELLOWSHIP
Pilgrim is a place where you can have fun, make friends, expand your understanding of the world, make a difference in the community. Members and friends join in multi- generational and age-specific activities that build a sense of community and encourage personal connections. Some activities are recurring and scheduled; others are more season-specific; still others are spontaneous, popping up as opportunities or current events arise. Some are social in nature; others have an additional purpose. Regardless of your age or interest, you can find a place to connect and enjoy fellowship.
Multi-Generational Gatherings: Pilgrim prides itself on hosting activities for folks of all ages
We gather together during holidays: Thankoffering Dinner at Thanksgiving; brunch and egg hunt at Easter; picnicking on the lawn and watching fireworks on the 4th of July.
The Pilgrim Retreat at Tower Hill in Sawyer, MI happens each fall, where we spend quality time unwinding in the woods and on the beach.
The Women and Girl’s Retreat at Pilgrim Park happens each February, where we get closer to nature, to each other and to God.
Social events such as “Art in the Park(ing) Lot”, talent shows, movies, and bowling outings.
Women’s and Men’s Get-Togethers: Pilgrim has multiple opportunities for adult engagement
Women’s Book Club meets monthly to discuss a book chosen by the group. Book topics vary from lighthearted to serious and from those published a long time ago to current best-sellers.
Women’s Breakfast/Women’s Evening Wine & Cheese meets monthly for good food and great conversations.
Men’s Pub Night meets monthly for fellowship and conversation at a local pub.
Connecting With Purpose: Pilgrims work and learn together
“All Church Book Reads” happen periodically and the discussions are a great way to get to know each other on a deeper level and learn about the underlying effects of current events. Recent books include “Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson, “Evicted” by Matthew Desmond and “Dear America” by Jose Antonio Vargas.
Communal outreach activities such as volunteering at Housing Forward and walking to end hunger through the CROP walk offer opportunities to support those in need while we work alongside each other.
The Donut ministry involves roughly 40 Pilgrims each month from May through October—making delicious donuts to support the work of the church and other local non-profits while also sharing fellowship.
