Resisting White Supremacy: Then and Now | Adult Education

Resistance is defined as the refusal to accept or comply with something; the attempt to prevent something by action or argument. Throughout history, black people have resisted white supremacy from jumping ship during the Transatlantic Slave Trade, to destroying tools on the plantation, to the Million Man March on Washington, to sit-ins and bus boycotts, to the Black Lives Matter today. This session will briefly explore how Black Americans have inspired hope through resisting white supremacy using a variety of sources.
