Today we are delighted to welcome Sara and Mike Hogue, members of Reparations Working Group at Euclid Avenue Methodist Church in Oak Park. This is specific journey that Euclid started several years ago as part of their commitment to social justice and the radical inclusivity that was modeled by Jesus.
The Reparations Working Group has worked to cultivate their own relationships by sharing meals together, encouraging one another to undo their own dominant-cultured ways of being. Their success in Financial Reparations has been impressive, but acknowledge the need to seek both relational and financial repair. Cultivating deep and lasting connection with our own and neighboring communities, while providing needed funds without strings attached, has been another component of their conversations around rectifying the historical and enduring racism of our nation. Their work is ongoing.
Please join us as they share some of their experiences and insights from this journey so that we might be better equipped and inspired in our social justice efforts at Pilgrim
