The Early Christian writers relied heavily on their faith tradition’s ancient texts, tuning their senses to be aware of the Divine Voice calling from the Hebrew law, prophets, and literature. As far as they were concerned, however, God’s voice was hardly confined to those volumes. They believed God is always speaking and not entirely from documented sources.
