The establishment of a worship space in the Israelite community brings to the fore a need for spiritual leadership and another frequently ignored expectation: sacred hospitality. With every aspect of priestly service detailed, Exodus sets the standard for meaningful worship: the finery, altars, sacrificial rites, etc., represent a much bigger, more elusive task.  (Ex. 28-31)
