As often happens after a major triumph, the realities of daily life and struggle become immediately apparent once the Israelites cross the Red Sea. Like any faith-based movement, the Israelites must decide whether to rely on divine provision or their own reasoning. Either way, they soon discover crossing the desert is going to be an epic challenge. (Ex. 16-17)
