People of the Book: The Five Pillars of Islam

Muslim faith stands on “five pillars” or beliefs that define Islamic devotion. This week we delve more deeply into each one, along with exploring Quranic passages about Abraham, the first prophet and faith ancestor who unites all “people of the book.” We also learn more about the early spread of Islam and how that set the agenda for empire, shaping much of what we now think of as “the Middle East.”
