People of the Book: Islam – Origins and Overview

The emergence of Islam in 7th century Arabia brought a new conversation partner to the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism and Christianity. Over the centuries, their commonalities would be tested by social, political, and ideological conflict. This summer we rejoin the conversation, reading portions of the Quran while exploring Islamic history and culture, with particular interest in prophetic traditions in all three faiths.
