Lake Job (Job 29-37)

The curious detachment that has been Job’s sustaining grace during his ordeal begins wane. Unable to pinpoint the cause of his suffering, he sinks into profound lament, itemizing his lost hopes and profound regrets. We understand where he’s coming from; it’s a common response. Then a new friend shows up with a blunt warning: “Beware Job. You’re drowning in Lake You!”
