The Thursday of Passion Week finds Jesus celebrating Passover with his friends. But the Rabbi takes the traditional rite and transforms it into something innovative—albeit deeply rooted in his Jewish faith. In the process, he introduces a radically new concept of “being poured out,” giving one’s all for the sake of others. And with that the underlying Passover meaning is transformed from escaping death to overcoming its power.
