Gather Bible Study: Faith, Moral Action, & Public Life

Food: Production, Consumption, and Sustainability

Because we eat daily, food is the most material practice we undertake. Our sacred texts wrestle with the relationship between scarcity and abundance, and it is no less true today. We are invited into two identities: as citizens and members of a community, global and local, and as creatures of God alongside other creatures. How can we eat in more just and sustainable ways? How can we make more ethically informed choices with what we consume?
