The principle of freedom is impossible to escape in scripture; in some way, at some level, it’s on every page. In the life of the Hebrew people and, carrying over into the teachings of Jesus and the Early Church, freedom and equality are divinely endowed gifts. What does that tell us about humanity, our relationship to God, others, and ourselves? How does that inform our sense of responsibility?
