PRESENTERS: Guest Speaker Kimberly Sigafus (Sponsored by MCO and MCE)
DESCRIPTION: In honor of upcoming Indigenous People's Day, we are excited to host Kimberly Sigafus (her Ojibwa name, "Bekaadiziikwe" means "Quiet Woman"). As an internationally published, award-winning Ojibwa author and speaker, her writing includes 10 years of newspaper and photo-journalistic work, as well as Native American children's picture books, YA fiction, plays, non-fiction, and fiction writing. She travels frequently throughout the Midwest doing Native American program and was chosen to be on the 2023-24 roster for the Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Speakers Bureau.
