We’ve come this far by faith: Adult Education

Our February 12th session We’ve Come this Far by Faith will explore hidden treasures from the African American Heritage Hymnal, and it will function as the third chapter discussing Black Hymnody, which began two years ago. In preparation for the session on February 12, I'd like to encourage everyone to listen to the following songs and think about the questions provided. There is nothing to write, unless listeners feel led to do so. The assignment may be done in a single sitting or throughout the week. This is meant to serve as a devotional.

What do you hear in the music regarding tempo, accompaniment, and manner of singing?

What seems to be the message in the lyrics?

How do you feel when you listen to these Christian songs?

Does this experience challenge you in your spiritual walk with God?
