Pilgrim Congregational Church, United Church of Christ practices radical hospitality making room within the life of this faith community for people of differing ages, races, abilities, orientations, faith practices, political persuasions. We engage each other, lift each other up, and challenge each other to be better at what God has called each of us to do.
Pilgrim involves many people in planning and leading worship that touches the mind and the heart and the senses. We explore our faith traditions and consider how the world in which we live requires us to be just and merciful and humble.
We are intentional about our faith development and offer a range of opportunities for members, friends, and the wider community to join us for worship, discussion, fellowship, and education for children, youth, and adults.
We are committed to the wider community in risk-taking mission and outreach, supporting a wide range of organizations that make a difference in people’s lives. We participate in the United Church of Christ, a progressive Christian denomination. We are members of the Community of Congregations, Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches and the Leaders Network. Our Donut Ministry supports and empowers the work of numerous donut partners.
We are a generous congregation supporting the work of Pilgrim as well as the wider church and community organizations. We contribute to Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Cluster Tutoring, Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry, The Night Ministry, Housing Forward, Arise Chicago, Chicago Theological Seminary, and many other organizations.
Come for a visit or join us for the journey. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome at Pilgrim.
Blessings to you,
Rev. Sally Iberg, Senior Pastor
