Welcome to our website.  We invite you to explore our pages as we tell the story of Pilgrim Congregational Church.

As a member church of the United Church of Christ (UCC), we are a congregation that strives to BE THE CHURCH.  Our commitment is to protect the environment, care for the poor, forgive often, reject racism, fight for the powerless, share earthly and spiritual resources, embrace diversity, love God, and enjoy this life. The mission of our ministries, programs, and worship service support this commitment.

Pilgrim was started at this location in Oak Park, IL in 1874, and continues to be a vibrant part of Oak Park life. While we are a moderate sized congregation, we are very active both inside and outside of our walls. Inside our walls we have many social, educational, and musical programs that are of interest to adults and children. We are also home to the Pilgrim Community Nursery School. Outside our walls we are in partnership and service to the many individuals and organizations in our local community. However, we do not stop locally, as we also perform service projects and support mission activities across our country and the world.

Pilgrim comes from the Congregational tradition; congregants are active in steering the direction of the church and acting as its governing body. If you are interested in engaging your mind, harnessing your talents, and putting your faith in action, you need look no further for a great faith community.

I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about what we do and who we are.

You are welcome here,
